All The Way To Asia

She was lithe and full of pep
And stood still on a dime
He was stern and starchly dressed
Looking for a crime
To commit outright against the very ones that he deplored
She opened up her flowery self, said "Dude, c'mon. Explore."

They went all the way to Asia
They went all the way from Rome
One night in November he called her on the phone
Long distance information just leave them alone
They went all the way to Asia
They went all the way...from Rome

Purple spots upon her gown
As she began to gleam
Everything is beautiful
At least that's how it seems
He tipped his hat and flashed his piece, said "Show me all I see"
And all around the flames rose up, red as red can be

Far from the places they were made
Far from the rainbow lemonade
In the shade

Lying spent upon the stones
That led down from the tower
Lighting strung with bumblebees
Crashed hither at full power
He slipped her gloves upon her limbs as she straightened up his tie
Said "Give me back my flower, babe, so I can surely die"
"So I can gently die."

They went all the way to Asia
They went all the way from Rome
One night in November, remember, he called her on the phone
Long distance information, said "just leave them alone"
They went all the way to Asia
   They went all the way...
   All the way...from Rome
