Spot On The River

There's a spot on the river
You know the one
That sandy little spot where people go
When they want to have some fun
It's junked up with old beer cans
And bits of aluminum foil
Dragonflies flitter about in pools of engine oil
And a nice breeze blows through there pretty strong
And on starry nights it seems like there's nothing wrong

There's that spot on the river
Hey man, you know the one
A serene little place where people go
When they're feeling kinda numb
The waves lap in all dreary
And slow with the tide
It's a nice spot to frequent when you need a place to hide
And a steady breeze blows through there pretty strong
And on starry nights it seems like there's nothing wrong

   That spot on the river
   That spot on the river
   That spot on the river
A perfect place to sit and shiver

There's a spot on the river
Do you know the one?
Where hurricane sculpted palm trees
Criss-cross a morning sun
If you look real hard through the sparkly glare you just might see
A dolphin's fin sliding south and heading out to sea
(or a big bull shark slinking along and heading right for me!)
Cause a nice breeze blows through there, yeah, pretty strong
And on starry nights it seems like there's nothing wrong
